The vineyard is located in the foothills
of the South Mount Lofty ranges, situated a little above
the floor of the valley proper at an elevation of around 250m.
Soils are sandy loam over clay with
alluvial gravel along the Breakneck Creek which runs through
the vineyard.
Planting began in 1972 and the vineyard
has since expanded through new planting and acquisition.
Currently grown varieties are Shiraz, Cab Sav, Mataro and
Chardonnay.
