2017 Barcore Shiraz-Mataro

This
wine is a roughly 50 50 blend of Shiraz and Mataro. Mataro
is a late ripening variety with high tannin and often high
alcohol (which is why we like it). This wine is a truncated
version of the more usual GSM blend, but there is an
increasing few appearing without Grenache. The savoury,
tannic flavours of the Mataro blend well with Shiraz
producing a very intense and drinkable wine.
